With two collaborators I created this analog circuit that turns on and off two RGB LEDs based on the frequencies picked up by a small microphone. This battery powered circuit was mounted in a custom-made, fast-spinning plate. The moving lights create an interactive visualization of sound. This effect is possible because of the persistence of vision effect when the fast moving lights seem to blur into lines.
This video documents the reactions of the guests who got a chance to play with the device. We found that because using the device requires using one's voice it can break down social barriers and create a positive group experience.
